‘Originally I used to do a lot of bead stringing and wire work, but my love of bead weaving developed when we were living in Alabama USA, and travelling around a lot, as I could carry my beading kit in my handbag.’
I have been teaching bead weaving for 6 years and am always amazed, my students come back to show me how they have used the technique that I taught, with slightly different beads, and made beautiful pieces of unique and wearable art.
‘I love bead weaving because there is just so much to learn. Every project presents its challenges, and just by varying the size, the colour or shape of beads that you use, it is so easy to create individual items of jewellery to add colour to your wardrobe, or give away as gifts.
