Art & Craft for Young People code YP2
suitable for everyone
Waiting list
Rowena Parkes/Sandra Finn
This course will be for all those who realise what joy there is in creating. It is not only for young artists who wish to gain more skills but also for those who feel the urge to draw and paint and who have not yet discovered their creative potential. Both Sandra and Rowena share a joyous approach to their work and believe that this mix of classical and creative training instruction will develop young artists’ love for art, and their creative skills and abilities. This will be a full day course and will be divided into drawing and painting in the morning and craft in the afternoon.

DRAWING AND PAINTING
There will be demonstrations with detailed step by step instructions. Learn how to mix and apply water colours and explore the creative elements of mixed media and learn helpful drawing skills and forms of expression e.g. tone, line shape space etc. Finally, learn the principles that give unity to the whole. Each student will practise these techniques on cards to give away to family and friends. Once you learn some drawing and painting skills, the excitement of the course will be in expressing your ideas and completing at least one art work to enjoy, exhibit, and take home.
CRAFT
Both teachers share a delight in the flexibility and simplicity of paper. Students will experiment with techniques to achieve the results they want, by choosing and completing the projects on offer such as building masks, making papier mache forms and gift boxes. Creative decorative techniques using paint, collage, beads and feathers will be demonstrated. $30 material cost payable to the tutor at the commencement of the camp.
