About Bellingen
Bellingen is a picturesque, tree-lined town on the banks of the Bellinger River 45 kms south of Coffs Harbour on the NSW mid-north coast.
The town has a well-deserved reputation as a creative centre. Other major events held in Bellingen include the Jazz Festival, Dance Stamping Ground and the Global Carnival that bring thousands of visitors to the town. The valley is famous for its arts and crafts, with many writers, artists, musicians, dancers and actors attracted to the area. They are drawn to its lifestyle and see it as paradise, a perfect place to live, work and relax. Bellingen is studded with craft shops and galleries and there is a wide choice of eateries. For accommodation there is also a wide range - B&Bs, self catered cottages, a backpackers and hotel and motel. What is camp creative?
It is a summer camp for families and individuals – a fun learning event where you mix with people of widely differing interests and ages in a relaxing and creative atmosphere. The accent is on imagination, innovation and enjoyment. The tutors are all leaders in their field who generously give their time for modest fees and who believe in the concept of Camp Creative, which is to give everyone the opportunity to find creative expression within themselves. Camp Creative will open your eyes to new ways of looking at things and looking at your self as well.
Who can come?
Anybody and everybody from age six to one hundred and six. Especially families, grandparents, parents and kids. If you come alone you’ll have the opportunity to make new friends in a friendly and encouraging environment.
What will I learn?
Probably more than you think is possible in just a few days. Like others before you, you will be surprised at the new values you will absorb – not only from your tutor but from fellow Campers as well. You will see things from a different perspective and discover new ways to achieve a result because your mind too will be opened up. To cap it all off you will get a hefty charge of inspiration to set new aims for yourself.
What do I wear?
It is summer so bring cool, comfortable, casual clothes.
What are the Hours?
Full day courses run for five days starting at 9am and finishing at 4pm. Half day courses will run for five days either in the morning 9am-noon or afternoon 1-4pm. There is a one hour lunch break and breaks for morning and afternoon tea at the tutors discretion. Note that courses BEGIN ON MONDAY MORNING and finish on Friday afternoon.
Where & when must I register?
To confirm your arrival and collect your class folder, registration will take place between 10am and 6pm on Sunday, January 10th at the Bellingen High School. If travelling a long distance and you are fully paid you can register at 8am on Monday morning at the High School prior to course start time of 9am. When you book you’ll be sent more explicit advice such as what materials to bring, maps etc. The Sunday night Welcome Dinner will be held at 7pm and is a great opportunity to meet fellow classmates and tutors. Payment for this dinner MUST BE PAID IN ADVANCE with your registration and prior to the commencement of the camp.

All events are FREE to Campers except for the Getting to Know You Dinner and canoeing.
