Course Requirements

Pastels Adventures Material list

Bring along a variety of pastels both soft and hard, in a range of colours.

MAKE SURE your pastels are ARTIST QUALITY – NOT just Artists Pastels

Pastel paper – bring a variety of pastel papers of colours that you enjoy. Please include at least one sheet of white and one black. Sanded papers such as Art Spectrum Colour fix (Sand paper type surface) and pastel papers such as the Canson pad of pastel papers are fine.

Charcoal (willow and compressed – whatever you have at home), kneaded eraser, wet ones or rags to clean your hands.

Table easels and a backing board with clips to attach your paper

Scissors and masking tape

Fine Spray bottle for water, soft cheap synthetic 1 inch flat brush

Clear pastel primer (Art Spectrum brand is preferred) and an old sponge to apply

OPTIONAL: If you have inks or watercolour paints bring some along (you will need the sanded pastel paper to use these)

A few sheets of glassine paper to allow for easy transporting of your pastel artwork back to home

Bring along A4 photos of subjects that you enjoy - enough for the whole week

One of your photos needs to be something fairly simple – such as a couple of pieces of fruit or a simple mass of trees etc.

Feel free to bring along any props from which you may also work

Looking forward to seeing you on January 14. Please feel free to contact me on lou2345@bigpond.net.au
