Step Up - Hip Hop Dance Fusion

This infectious, energetic dance class involves your whole body, opening up rhythm, swagger and self-expression. The class brings authentic moves from the streets to the studio, teaching the latest moves for urban hip-hop, break, pop and lock.

In a vibrant class environment, Tehani will help you enhance your skills, no matter your dance experience, as you work on fun and funky routines. Her high-energy choreography is built around both old school jams and the freshest hip-hop and R&B sounds. You’ll work as a class to learn routines that will combine into a high energy finale dance performance.

More about the course

This is a unique opportunity to enhance your skills (no matter your dance background) through a fun and dynamic dance course. Working in the Camp Creative group environment to the rhythms of new and old school hip hop jams, Tehani will help to engender an understanding and love for the versatile and dynamic style of hip hop dance. The class will perform at the Youth Concert on the Friday of the Camp.

Tehani Vicario

Tehani Vicario studied at Sydney’s Urban Dance Centre faculty, learning the styles of hip hop, jazz, ballet, tap, contemporary, Bollywood, popping, locking, and breakdancing. As a young dancer in Bellingen, she encountered ‘So You Think You Can Dance’ choreographer Travers Ross, performing and touring with his hip hop dance crew. As part of the dance industry, Tehani has performed in video clips, as a back-up dancer, in club shows, flash mobs and cheerleading. She can't wait to bring her passion, charisma & flava to anyone interested in learning this universal language of dance.

 

Course Requirements

Your clothes will need to reflect dance. Sneaker style shoes, stretch pants, loose comfortable, casual clothing is suitable. No skirts, please.

You will receive an email from Tehani prior to the commencement of Camp Creative letting you know about suitable costuming requirements and attire. This will not be expensive and will utilise as much as possible normal street clothes.
