Deborah Burton
Deborah Burton is an experienced educator and artist with over 24 years of teaching experience in Queensland, specialising in creative expression and beginner-friendly acrylic painting.
She enjoys painting in her gardens at Gumtree Gallery Studios, in Highfields, Queensland. She has been creating art pieces all of her life, however she began to look more seriously into her artistic abilities in 1995 with a group of likeminded artists in Helidon. This is where she expanded her passion for oils on canvas.
Deborah joined her current art group, ‘Artists of Crow’s Nest’ in 2019, with whom she shares a love of experimenting and expanding her artistic talents through a variety of mediums. A predominant theme in Deborah’s work is her passion for blending colours and exploring the changes in light.
She has always been inspired by the famous French Impressionist, Claude Monet. She thoroughly enjoys studying his techniques, using relatively small, thin, brush strokes. Deborah likes to paint realistic scenes of modern life, and often paints outdoors.
