YOUR COURSE TUTOR
Gillian Jackson
I am a retired teacher with over 40 years experience teaching primary and secondary students.
The last 8 years of my career I taught art across the school. Since retiring I have moved from Canberra to Mitchells Island to set up a studio with a view to teaching primary students during school holiday breaks. I have a Diploma in Visual art from Canberra Institute of Technology (CIT) and an Advanced Diploma in Creative Product Design (CIT).
I have participated in 4 major exhibitions in Canberra at M16 and Belconnen Art Centre in the last 6 years. Two of my major exhibitions included monoprints using various techniques on a gel plate. My solo exhibitions 'Shed' and 'F103' were also well received.
I have been involved in holiday art programs for 5 years where I taught full day, topic focussed courses to students K-6 including such subjects as Eric Carl collages, Picasso Heads, Cartooning, Steampunk and Escher.
Since moving to Mitchells Island I have involved myself in a short exhibition in Taree with local artists, attend classes with a local artist and joined a sketching group. My first degrees are in Mathematics and I have a Masters in Educational Leadership.
