“I’m completing this on behalf of my son. He has ADHD and challenging behaviours. I was so nervous about how he would go at Camp Creative but the facilitators were amazing. He had a great time. Classroom facilitators and also the overall facilitator Jaimie at St Marys. When he melted down/ran out of the classroom/etc, the facilitators treated him with care and kindness and the situation was able to be de-escalated and resolved quickly and he returned back to class. Amazing. Thank you so much.”

  • You’ll make a nature artwork, a nature journal and explore cyanotyping, experiment with ochre and paperbark, and create a model house structure and garden made out of natural objects. This week is for anyone who loves crafting, playing, exploring and imagining!

Students will spend the majority of their time exploring outdoor environments and working with natural materials. Activities will be hands-on, creative and deeply connected to the landscape.

Students will make artefacts, clay ornaments, shelters, mandalas and other nature-inspired creations - but rather than taking them home, most of their work will be left in the bush as part of a temporary and respectful interaction with the natural world.

This approach encourages presence, play, and appreciation - focusing on the process of making, not just the outcome. However, the afternoons will see students working on some items that they will take home with them - some clay creations, a nature artwork, a nature journal and a model house structure and garden made out of natural objects.

Students will also create a giant, collective mandala to share with their parents at the end of the last day.

  • Please bring the following on your first day of class:

    • Wear clothes that can get dirty

    • Closed in shoes

This class has an extra materials cost of $20, which is payable directly to the tutor.

Once you book your ticket, the tutor will be in touch to arrange payment.

    Cost includes:

    • Air dry clay

    • Twine

    • String

    • Cyanotyping materials

    • Watercolour paper and paint

    • Materials to make nature journals

    • Board base for house/garden creation

  • No experience required.
