YOUR COURSE TUTOR
Linda Parker
As well as regularly performing, Linda founded the Hum-n-Strum Ukulele Group, plays in ukulele groups, and supports walk-ups in the mid-north coast of NSW.
Linda plays both the ukulele – she has a collection of more than a dozen – and also plays U-bass and double bass. Her passion for ukes has her playing with different bands, both live and in the recording studio.
Linda came to music as a mature adult and, as a result, knows how to relate to beginners without a musical background.
With her many years of experience as a trainer, Linda continues to bring the fun of ukeing to cruise ships, health care programs and community events.
She enjoys jamming with other musicians and loves to give others the confidence to sing out loud and play in front of an audience.
Wendy Orth will be working alongside Linda as the assistant for this course.

“Linda is a great teacher, very patient with students and open to chat about things!
We did things I’d not done before, sing with a mike, stand & listen to the Joy of Singing group, who were brilliant! Really enjoyed her class. She is fantastic at engaging her students.”
“Great rapport between the two tutors . Catered to everyone individually as needed Personalised and perceptive tutoring. Great impromptu jam session organised one evening with other ukelele players and singers at the showground.”
“Amazing teachers / passionate, caring, talented, fun and very generous sharing their expertise.”

The course has brought much joy to many people over the years, particularly those who thought they would never be able to play an instrument.
Many have also surprised themselves with a singing voice they didn’t know they possessed. With Linda’s help, you’ll discover how to play simple chords, various strums, and various playing styles.
There is no need to know how to read music or have any musical experience to enjoy this course. Those who have just started playing uke can also join in the fun.
Following this course, you’ll have no trouble livening up any gathering by playing the songs you learned at Camp Creative.
Even if you’ve been playing uke for a while - but not feeling confident, then this course is for you – Linda works with many levels of experience. Many previous attendees have returned in the following years to savour more of a week of fun and learning.
