We start each day with fun warmup games, leading into exercises that introduce the key principles of improv such as 'yes and', agreement, spontaneity, listening, and collaboration.
Each day we will apply key concepts to scene work before putting it all into practice through fun performance games. At the end of the five days we will perform our favourite games to a small invited audience of friends and family.
-
No experience required.
-
NOTE: THIS IS A PLAN ONLY AND SUBJECT TO CHANGE
DAY ONE
Making and accepting offers, introducing the principle of 'yes and'.
We will take the first steps in exploring scene work and play our first performance games.
DAY TWO
Listening to each other's contributions and being in response to each other. Further steps into the elements that make up a scene.
DAY THREE
Interacting with our environment while on stage, using mime, movement and object work to create imaginary worlds.
DAY FOUR
Creating characters and building on emotion both of which lie at the core of improvisation.
DAY FIVE
Responding to elements that are active and present with us on stage, making it easier to sustain our scenes.
We will then perform a selection of games to friends and family.
