The camp covers a wide range of genres, including bluegrass, blues and roots, jazz, funk, Latin, classical and country blues.
Topics include right-hand technique, tone and gear considerations, jazz guitar concepts, rhythm guitar, and improvisation techniques.
Campers will also dive into scales, modes and jazz chords, as well as essential band etiquette, learning how to integrate these skills into ensemble settings.
Creativity is at the heart of Guitar Camp, with beginner songwriting sessions focusing on chord functions, harmony and melody development. Participants will learn practical music theory concepts like the cycle of 5ths, key centres, common chord progressions and which scales and arpeggios to use when jamming.
Each day follows a structured routine, beginning with foundational techniques, theory, and demonstrations before moving into the afternoon relaxed group practice sessions.
The afternoons offer a chance to put newfound skills to the test in a supportive and pressure-free environment. The emphasis is on learning, development, and self-expression rather than performance, allowing campers to grow as musicians without the stress of a final showcase.
