Bronwyn Napiorkowski & Miranda Cull
Running this workshop are the co-founders of the Happymess Studio, located in the heart of Bellingen offering Art Therapy and Creative Workshops for all ages. Bronwyn and Miranda are Masters qualified Creative Arts Therapists (registered with ANZACATA). They are passionate about working with sustainable, recycled and natural materials.
This week-long workshop combines elements of nature-based therapy, art therapy and group dynamics. The facilitators hope to spark a newfound curiosity in the participants for the natural world, utilising found materials in new and exciting creative ways. Bronwyn has worked in the field of creative arts her whole life, first studying fashion and costume design. Her exposure to the unsustainable and ethical issues surrounding commercial clothing production led Bronwyn to begin seeking an alternative career path. Since this time Bronwyn has re-trained completing a Masters of Art Therapy qualification in 2019. Combining her love for the arts and heartfelt community connection has inspired her to open the Happymess Studio located in the heart of Bellingen with fellow art therapist Miranda Cull. Bronwyn has a multi-modal approach to working with young people, integrating mindfulness, breathing techniques and movement alongside art-making activities. She enjoys working with people using creative modalities to build confidence, support with social skills, encouraging a sense of community.
Miranda has a background of working with both adults and young people using arts based practices to connect others to a greater sense of self. She has been involved in many creative projects from community garden designs that implement horticulture therapy practices to developing creative programs in primary and secondary schools. Miranda completed her Masters in Art Therapy in Melbourne and has been on a passionate journey of supporting others to explore and nurture their innate sense of creativity. She is now bringing these skills and passions back to where she grew up and is excited for the offering of Happymess studio along side Bronwyn.
Miranda thrives using natural materials in her artistic exploration and loves watching children's imagination go wild when they are left to create from what they discover in the world around them. Miranda is passionate about inspiring young people to create from a place of sustainability - she incorporates this in to all of her creative and work endeavours.

“The Happymess team were phenomenal and as long as they’re running courses at Camp Creative I will continue to sign my kids up for them. This feeling seems shared by all!”

DAY 1 – Sight: “Colour & Perspective”
Children will explore the world through their eyes by observing colours, light, and shapes. They’ll be guided in a painting activity to capture what they see—and what they imagine—using water-based, earth-friendly paints. We’ll also explore what kinds of visual input feel calming, exciting, or overwhelming.
DAY 2 – Smell: “Scent Lab”
A gentle journey into the world of smell. Children will blend natural essential oils to create their own calming or energising scent blends. We’ll explore how different smells make us feel and where we might find comfort or alertness in the scents of our world.
DAY 3 – Touch: “Textures & Feels”
Children will engage their sense of touch by creating a “touch box” filled with found and repurposed materials of varying textures. We’ll reflect on sensory preferences—what feels good, what doesn’t—and explore how touch can ground and calm us.
DAY 4 – Hearing: “Sound & Silence”
We’ll explore the richness of sound—rhythms, tones, and quiet.Using recycled materials, children will create simple instruments or sound-makers and explore what kinds of sounds feel soothing or stimulating. Listening games and sound art will support this sensory journey.
DAY 5 – Taste: “Flavours of Feeling”
A fun and safe tasting session where children explore the five main tastes—sweet, sour, salty, bitter, and umami. They’ll create a mixed-media “flavour map” and reflect on how different tastes make them feel. All tastings will be optional and inclusive of dietary needs.
