9 Doors to Musical Mastery

$507.00

Mornings for Discovery. Afternoons for Music-Making…

A 5-day immersive journey into music, creativity, and self-discovery through the lens of the 9 musical archetypes (“Musos”) inspired by the Enneagram.

Open to beginners, experienced musicians, teachers, and curious creatives alike. Participants are encouraged to bring an instrument if convenient, though no instrument or prior musical experience is required. Instruments will also be available throughout the week.

This updated 2026 version places a stronger emphasis on collaborative music-making, improvisation, and group jams — with mornings focused on exploration and discovery, and afternoons dedicated to creative application and musical play.

Participants from previous 9 Doors workshops are especially welcome to return. The 2026 experience is not simply a repeat of last year’s course, but an opportunity to revisit, deepen, and continue your musical journey — strengthening previous insights while exploring new exercises, richer group interaction, expanded jam sessions, and deeper creative integration. The intention is not merely to repeat the experience, but to magnify and evolve it.

Participants will engage in games, musical exercises, reflection, mapping activities, improvisation, discussion, and collaborative music-making throughout the week, while developing their own personalised “Musical Map” to take home.

WEEK PLAN

DAY 1: Opening the Doors

Introduction to the 9 Musos and the 3 Musical Intelligences (Body, Heart, Mind). Through games, mapping exercises, discussion, and music-making, participants begin uncovering their own creative tendencies and musical identity.

The day also introduces foundational musical material and simple shared songs that become creative launchpads for the week ahead.

DAY 2: Heart Intelligence

Exploring the emotional and expressive musos (Types 2, 3, 4). Focus on feeling, storytelling, performance, authenticity, and emotional connection through music and creative exercises.

Participants explore ideas such as musical identity, emotional expression, creativity, performance energy, and the role of feeling in music-making.

Afternoon Jam Focus

Mood, expression, storytelling, and emotional communication through collaborative music-making.

DAY 3: Mind Intelligence

Exploring the curious and inventive musos (Types 5, 6, 7). Musical puzzles, rhythm games, improvisation, pattern recognition, creativity hacks, and playful approaches to theory and learning.

Participants engage with musical systems, improvisational thinking, listening games, and exercises exploring the known, unknown, and hidden dimensions of musical understanding.

Afternoon Jam Focus

Experimentation, musical games, improvisation, rhythmic layering, and collaborative invention.

DAY 4: Body Intelligence

Exploring the instinctive and grounded musos (Types 8, 9, 1). Rhythm, embodiment, groove, leadership, ritual, confidence, and sustainable creative practice.

The focus shifts toward integrating music into the body through rhythm circles, movement-based activities, grounding exercises, groove exploration, and practical musical habits.

Afternoon Jam Focus

Groove circles, ensemble flow, rhythmic leadership, pulse, and embodied music-making.

DAY 5: Integration & Musical Mapping

COURSE TUTOR

Corrie Wade

Corrie Wade is a cross-disciplinary educator, musician, and eternal student who has followed his passions across the globe — from studying Flamenco in Spain to learning Cuban drumming, dancing Tango in Argentina, and teaching on a frozen lake beneath Mt Fuji. His love of learning has led him through an ever-expanding web of disciplines: mathematics, music theory, sacred geometry, dance, Enneagram, spirituality, and coaching — all blending into his creative work today.

At the heart of Corrie’s approach is a simple joy: helping others experience their own “aha” moments. His journey through so many interconnected fields inspired him to create the 9 Doors to Musical Mastery — a playful, holistic, and highly original framework that empowers students of all backgrounds to unlock their own creative pathways, no matter where they’re starting from.

The course exceeded my expectations primarily due to the tutor, Corrie Wade, who was most personable, knowledgeable, considerate, supportive, encouraging and talented.

Corrie Wade was an excellent leader. The group was quite big for the type of work we were doing, everyone’s contributions were honoured and the course content was very interesting, now requiring more study but a great starting point.
