COURSE TUTOR
Linda Parker
As well as regularly performing, Linda founded the Hum-n-Strum Ukulele Group, plays in ukulele groups, and supports walk-ups in the mid-north coast of NSW.
Linda plays both the ukulele – she has a collection of more than a dozen – and also plays U-bass and double bass. Her passion for ukes has her playing with different bands, both live and in the recording studio.
Linda came to music as a mature adult and, as a result, knows how to relate to beginners without a musical background.
With her many years of experience as a trainer, Linda continues to bring the fun of ukeing to cruise ships, health care programs and community events.
She enjoys jamming with other musicians and loves to give others the confidence to sing out loud and play in front of an audience.
Wendy Orth will be working alongside Linda as the assistant for this course.
“Linda and Wendy are excellent tutors. I had a lot of fun and learnt a lot from my time with them. Can recommend Linda and Wendy for classes in the future. The whole class had a good time and were treated with respect and understanding.”
“Linda & Wendy were fantastic. They’re very knowledgeable & gradually impart their wisdom. We did have fun & learnt so much. The tutors cleverly took us from knowing nothing to enjoying performing on stage! We felt nurtured & encouraged very positively. They were very generous both with their time & provision of equipment & even snacks! I’ve just joined a local group where I live & felt so grateful for the knowledge that I already have as I fitted in quite well. We’re even receiving ongoing encouragement via WhatsApp once we’re all home. Keep it up ladies, you’re very caring & professional!! Thank you for a memorable week.”
