Pottery for Young Clay Lovers

$178.00

A hands-on ceramic workshop, where young makers dive into the world of clay, shaping open vessels like cups and bowls, crafting closed lidded forms with fitted lids, and bringing characters and creatures to life through figurative sculpture.

The series wraps with a self-directed project where each child follows their own creative instincts and makes something entirely their own.

All students' works will be bisque fired (not glaze fired), and can be picked up from a pre-determined location after firing. Work will be labelled and stored safely.

COURSE TUTORS

Charmaine Robbins

Hey all!

I'm Charmaine, and I'll be working alongside Jeannie to bring your clay creations to life! I've produced a ceramics video masterclass series for The Australian Ceramics Association, worked at ABC Arts and ABC Kids, taught Screen & Sound at USWN, and managed multi-day music and arts festivals.

As a kid, I loved playing in the mud and letting my imagination run wild... not much has changed! I've been exploring clay through workshops for years and can't wait to share my passion with you. My 9-year-old is keen to get muddy too!

Jeannie Holker

Hi everyone!

My name is Jeannie, and I’m excited to create pottery with you. I’m a potter and sculptor with a Diploma in Ceramics and have received a national art award for my ceramic work, as well as presented a major solo exhibition.

Over the years, I’ve worked with many children through cooking, art, and Junior Ranger programs. I currently work as a Forest Ranger, leading outdoor adventures and nature-based learning experiences. I love working with clay and look forward to helping you shape, build, and decorate your own unique creations while having fun and learning together.
