The subject matter she chooses is varied and includes wildlife and birds, landscape, seascape, still life, floral and recently, figurative and portraiture.
Over the years she has attended several workshops to hone her self taught skills. These workshops have been taught by some well known artist/ tutors and in attendance at Mitchell School of Art held twice annually at Charles Sturt University campus situated at Bathurst , NSW.
Tutors who have influenced her are the late Keith Norris, Barry & Lucy McCann, Joseph Zbukvic, Denis Clarke, Herman Pekel, Ron Muller, Neil Taylor and recently, Kasey Sealy, Lorraine Lewitzka, John lovett, Amanda Hyatt, Paul Margoscy, Cherry Hood and she has a great admiration for Aine Divine who resides in the UK.
She spent a year at Werrington Tafe and a recently completed a Natural History Illustration course provided by Newcastle University and run by EDX where a mark of 98% was achieved and a great deal of knowledge. There is always more learning to be done.
Of late, she has embarked on teaching her art and finding a great reward in this venture. She teaches all over Australia at present with intention to take this overseas as she thinks she has a unique way to share her knowledge with others.
“Our tutor Marion was such a great teacher. She taught many different applications of watercolour was very inclusive and positive to all members of the class and made it all so much fun. A great week.”
“I got some great tips, I loved the small group. The tutor was excellent at explaining, and very patient. She made no negative criticisms, always positive and constructive.”
