Build a Global Playlist: Learn to play four catchy, traditional tunes from different cultures around the world.
Train Your Musical Ears: Learn how to catch a groove and pick up melodies quickly just by listening—like a real folk musician!
Master Tricky World Rhythms: Discover cool chords, fun backing styles, and secret "odd timings" from places like the Balkans.
Invent Your Own Solos: Gain the confidence to jam, use fancy musical decorations (ornamentation), and make up your own solos through fun games.
Jam in an Epic Band: Learn how to listen to your bandmates, design your own song structures, and play together as a massive global orchestra!

COURSE TUTOR
Laura Targett
Fiddler, Singer, Composer & Educator
Laura Targett is an acclaimed Australian musician and educator celebrated for her distinctive fiddle style and deep connection to world folk traditions. A dynamic performer, she has appeared at leading global festivals—including Woodford, Port Fairy, and the National Folk Festival—and collaborated with folk icons like Tim Edey, Steve Cooney, and Michael McGoldrick. Her award-winning compositions and recent fiddle album, recorded at Scotland's iconic Tpot Studios, seamlessly blend Celtic roots, global folk influences, and classical training.
Equally dedicated to education, Laura is a highly sought-after workshop leader specializing in Celtic and world fiddle traditions. She has taught at the Maleny Celtic Winter School and Broadstairs Folk Week (UK), focusing on accessible, inclusive music-making. Currently developing her second solo album produced by Luke Plumb, Laura’s teaching combines deep stylistic knowledge with an emphasis on creative expression, improvisation, and cross-cultural connection.
