Camp Creative bids Rob Stockton a sad farewell…
Hello Campers…
I never thought the day would come, but I have decided to retire as President of Camp Creative. My involvement has spanned 25 years, starting in 2000. I was the new Principal at Bellingen High School in 1999 and I was keen to promote the school in the wider community through the profile of Camp Creative, and that was successful beyond my wildest expectations.
I had wonderful mentors in Gillian Helfgott, Peter Nance and Bill Lockley. I initially organised all venues, particularly the high school site until 2013. When I retired as Principal I worked as coordinator with my wife Michelle (Michelle is staying on as secretary this year in preparation for our 40th anniversary). We both retired prior to COVID and were asked to come back for a year after the COVID period as coordinators. I served as President in the last 2 years.
I certainly have some pangs of regret but have the utmost respect for our current committee. We still operate as a festival that is not based on grants, and our numbers continue to top the 1000 mark, which is remarkable given the beating that COVID inflicted on so many groups.
I will have a chance to say goodbye in person. I have agreed to assist with the preparations for the 40th Birthday and I will be organising, as well as, compering the Celebrity Concert, The Party in the Park and the Grand Finale Concert.
I have a final project to write about the history of Camp Creative and I would like to include human interest stories, personal recollections, funny happenings or stories about your families, even unusual accommodation stories. All topics are welcome I won’t use names unless you would like your name included.
You can send those thoughts to rob.j.stockton@gmail.com and
if you forget this email you can always use info@campcreative.com.au
Lastly, I cannot thank my wife Michelle enough. She has been a rock for me, and I wouldn’t have completed this journey without her.
Good bye!

Camp Creative communication
We've noticed that some people have been missing out on our emails. Because email is the primary way that Camp Creative communicates with participants, we want to ensure everyone receives the messages. Likewise, the best way to get in touch with us is by email.
The best way to avoid our emails going to spam is to add info@campcreative.com.au to your contacts.
